How to Join
The parents of all new SCOUTS should do the following:
- Subscribe to the Troop email list by emailing our Scoutmaster.
- Fill out the BSA Youth Application. You only need to fill out page 5.
- Fill out Part A of the Annual Health and Medical Record. Be sure and include a copy of both sides of your medical insurance card.
- Bring these forms to a Troop meeting and give them to the Scoutmaster.
Annual dues are currently $150 with a check made out to Troop 135. Please send checks to Mike Quayle. If paying dues or any other Troop fees is a hardship for your family, please talk to the Scoutmaster (Eric Evans) or the Committee Chair (Debbie Burke).
ADULTS who are taking an adult leadership position in the Troop should do the following:
- Subscribe to the Troop email list by emailing our Scoutmaster.
- Fill out the BSA Adult Application.
- Fill out The Spirit of Adventure Council CORI Request Form. Providing your SSN is optional, not required. More information is available here about the Council CORI policy.
- If you will be coming on camping trips or other activities, fill out Parts A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Record. Be sure and include a copy of both sides of your medical insurance card. More detailed instructions about medical forms are on our webpage here.
- Make a copy of your Massachusetts drivers license or other government ID.
- Take online Youth Protection training. Go to https://my.scouting.org/ and create an account. From the MyScouting.org portal, click on E-Learning and take the Youth Protection Training course. Print out the certificate.
- Bring these forms to a Troop meeting and give them to the Committee Chair, Debbie Burke.
Dues are not collected from adult leaders.
