Water Chestnut Pull 2026
Troop 135 scouts and adult volunteers pulled invasive water chestnut from Greenough Pond and the Concord River on three separate service outings in 2026.

7/11/26 Today a small group of scouts and adult volunteer headed out on the Concord River to pull invasive water chestnut.

Thanks Jonathan DeKock and the Carlisle Conservation Foundation for providing this educational and fun morning out on the River!

Scouts earned conservation community service hours for their work.
7/31/26 Another day, another way to serve our community…

Thank you to the scouts and families that have volunteered to help the Carlisle Conservation Foundation pull invasive water chestnuts from Greenough Pond.

We spent 3 hours 7/31 and pulled around 30 baskets and another group was scheduled to do the same the following day!

8/29/26 was the troop’s final day of invasive water chestnut pulling for the summer of 2026.

17 people (scouts and their family members) over 6 sessions pulled this invasive plant for a collective 100hrs of conservation community service! Bravo Troop 135!
